First meetings and monkeys oh my!

so as you can see from above..it’s a monkey! and just to add to that…i’m not at a zoo. Apparently these things run wild around here in singapore and this was actually taken right by where i’m living here in the good ole sings. 

So living here in Singapore has been an interesting experience thus far. Just a few days ago I managed to go hang out with some fellow Tischies here it looks like it’s going to be quite the year working with these folk they’re quite friendly and I’m excited to see what we’re all going to be able to put together this coming year. 

So it’s nice that i’ve actually started to meet new people and you know branch out a little out of my shell. It’s always been hard for me to meet new people… I always feel all weird and awkward… and self conscious…oh how I hate my self-depreciating asian self-esteem! Alright well it’s time to change a chance to start anew in a foreign land and i know i can’t do this alone for no man is an island! So time to make some friends! sigh…it’s sad i had to just give myself a pep talk to go make friends…I’m a sad sad person. 

Anyways as long as we’re on the topic of friends… I think this is probably going to be my hardest struggle here in singapore. I know deep down I thrive on the iron-sharpening-iron moments in friendships and eye opening talks that only come from the comfort of a friendship that’s been tested over and over again through time. And for me it’s those things I find comfort in the most, and it’s probably the first time I’m not going to have ready access to that while I’m here. hmm..I know that God’s going to stretch me while I’m out here, but let’s just see in how much so… 

oh and btw… I wanted to post a video up here that was on my brand spankin new ipod touch…but sadly… the videos are on my ipod and apple is stupid and won’t let me take them OFF my ipod touch… I’M NOT STEALING APPLE!!! THEY’RE MINE LEMME HAVE THEM!!!! Sigh…so no video yet… But here is a picture of my beloved ipod next to my newest toy=)

 

So as a side note the ipod is precious to me due to the contents of the 58 or so videos on there of my friends at 3 in the morning trying to say their goodbyes…it’s sweet. And you guys are hilarious. Especially when you interview the people who have no idea who i am. 

and dun dun dunnnn beside it is my new phone! the greatest thing about it? with my plan i got it for like 38 sing dollars which is like.. 26 dollars US… and it’s better than anything you can get in the states… Suckers! 

anyways thanks again everyone, i’m missing all of you a lot. OH! and just in case you guys want it… here’s my number…cause I know all of you love to call overseas… haha

I finally changed my clock on my laptop…from chicago time to singapore time. It’s official now.
